Coaching, sometimes more specifically designated as life coaching, business coaching, executive coaching, wellness coaching, etc., is a collaborative process between peers consisting of high-level, provocative, productive conversations.
Coaching is not therapy, mentoring, consulting, friendship, casual chatting or cheerleading.
Coaching is intense, honest, challenging, fun, evocative, enlightening and a special experience that you just can’t get with friends and family.
In coaching, all of the focus in on you, the client. Your coach will help you determine what you really want and make sure you have enough energy around that desire to actually achieve it. (No more lackluster goals that lose energy and fall flat.) Together, you will strategize, create plans, execute, troubleshoot, and adjust. Throughout this process, your coach will help you learn things about yourself and how you interact with yourself, other people, and the world at large that will serve you for the rest of your life.
Just about all coaches are focused on your “success”, including myself.
In the way I coach however, it is about the kind of success that can’t be separated from fulfillment, connection, growth, true high-performance, self-leadership, other-leadership and happiness.
In other words, yes, you will see fantastic results in your life, but you will come to see that as secondary. First and foremost will be the deep fulfillment that comes from knowing you are expressing your values and abilities, connecting lovingly with the people in your life, and reaching your true potential.
